Die with the most likes Todsweiback aka Mark Wilson is a misleading juggernaut in the crypto art scene. When confronted with his work for the first time, the immediate reaction is to capitalize on the shock and dismiss him as another eagle, but when one drop reveals the feelings and principles behind the scenes, there is an unprecedented depth of self-reflection and Central American criticism / festivity. The culture is crammed into a disrespectful culture of raw meat.
Since his first mint on the Tejos blockchain in March 2021, he has drilled a path to growing success through conscious writing and artwork that has stylistically met with Chris Simpson artist Mike Judge. His work has been exhibited internationally, on KnownOrigin and SuperRare, and his latest Brainchild is a collaboration with the Crypto Art Museum to create a digital art exhibition. I am grateful to Todd, another super fan of Garfield, for agreeing to an interview with me.
How did you get started as an artist?
As far as I can remember I never said anything about it, I find creation as a necessity and a process of walking indefinitely in and out of the waters of agreed insanity. Creation missing purpose fuels our entire artistic movement. Built as a mirror for observers to tear apart the distortions of their choice and to reflect on the unbearable drip and inevitable nosebleeds. I don’t have too much inspiration because there were recreational vehicle museums instead of art museums where I grew up, although they also had beauty. I’ve found more inspiration among artists last year than a whole lifetime up to that point.
What does ground beef mean to you?
Flesh controls everything around me. I think tangled linguine noodles are a really ridiculous possibility to put your existence in a plastic bag of blood. Having some butcher with failed limbs means you are about to expire and put a discount price tag on what you have done. Then finally an old bay seasoning packet and some eggs are mixed with the noodles and eaten through the suppository from a scalding, microwaveted plastic tray. Just providing enough sustenance for another brutal day of insect labor. I like ground beef. Legitimate ground beef.

I was born in a corn saffron at the sound of the death of a dream and the sound of freshly ripe asphalt from a mound of melted snow in a strip mall. I will not trade it for the world. There’s a sincerity here, as if we all came from the same city and were together with mushroom soup cream. We share many of the same sorrows and many of the same happiness. People are mostly kind. Getting drunk at the Steel Reserve and playing the devil’s stick in an abandoned Arby’s parking lot where I’ve learned creatively, it’s been downhill ever since.
Even though you have a lot of fans (including me) I know a lot of people will find your style and content crude, uncomfortable and really disgusting. How would you explain your art to such critics?
I think the tinned answer here would be beauty in disgust or some bullshit like said a thousand times, but really, I’ve found the possibility of creating characterless desk ornaments to soothe the itchy holes in the screen. ** Spiritually reprehensible. I scratched the wound and they bleed. That blood is a lubricant for our collective lineage that cannot be salvaged. If lifelong forced feeding deviations from prescription pills and lifeless explosive-sized treats in the Candy Crush Human suffering story aren’t for you forever, I would respectfully say do some DMT and watch four seasons of the Grammy-nominated reality television show Pawn Stars.
What is your favorite story from your crypto art journey so far?
I spent six months creating the fake SuperRare app, just submitting my SuperRare app video, it tweeted like Butt Funneling is a Hyneken 0.0 and a huge bag of Jankem Huffing and a stop motion sequel recording of Passion of the Christ but played minions ” . What eventually led me to claim was that I was on a month-long DMT trip re-recording The Divine Secrets of the Ya Sisterhood where I and a Larry the Cable Guy were acting in every part of the deep mock. Many thanks to Jack for acknowledging that the film needed to be made, still seeking funding.
You are not only a visual artist, but also a famous writer. I know the output you maintain is that other artists are generally inspired, including the lack of filters. How did you get to that point and what advice for other artists who are fighting their monsters to create?
Ah f * ck Yes thank you for that, I would definitely recommend reading. It’s easy to say, but it completely changes the way you process things. Again creation for the sake of creation. There is no need to mint or sell everything. Most pictures. Most text. Most experiences are like that. A digital distillation of a rapidly decaying meat bag. Emergency hug. Embrace madness. Pour the thoughts, feelings and emotions into a furnace and burn in the already polluted swollen cloud. Do not take any advice including this.
Where do you see the future of the crypto industry?
I see we are all denying our predestined existence of grief and insect labor. We may not die alone doing something we hate. Maybe still dying alone, but at least not doing something we hate and a cantaloupe forward edible arrangement with a pretty low-attendance funeral that represents our legacy.
You love 3 artists in crypto art and why?
Seren Su: I find their work beautiful and annoying and ridiculously ridiculous. When the pieces are transferred, it is not possible to understand any of your feelings when looking at the fulfillment of some unknown purpose, just a suffocating feeling that your conscience is being transferred together.
Esra came: Brutal at every level. Their contempt for humanity as a whole is a theme I obviously like. To document some ridiculous and unproven descent as a species. Pouring sacks of meat into patties and grilling on a summer BBQ fulfills our true destiny.
