5 projects that celebrate diversity in the NFT community

It’s no secret that NFT is a melting pot of space culture. NFT art, photography, music and much more have been created by unique creators across the vast expanse of the NFT ecosystem. Of course, NFT space can do more to empower under-represented artists, but that doesn’t mean that diversity doesn’t exist in NFT space.

This diversity should be and Is Being celebrated across the blockchain. Artists of all backgrounds, religions and colors are being given their flowers on Web3, whether through the collection of large-scale profile pictures (PFPs) or through the efforts of a digital autonomous organization (DAO).

So to shed more light on the diversity of NFT space, here are a few projects that are leading the pack.

400 drums NFT

400 Drums is a campaign dedicated to using the new online platform to monetize the skills of indigenous artists, veterans, language speakers and many more while sharing their education and stories. The project was created by Four Hour Futures, an Indigenous-owned corporation founded by Indigenous leaders in Canada. It seeks to explore, think, communicate and reflect on common threads in ancient cultures.

In the case of the 400 drums NFT collection, a team of developers teamed up with Goddard of Salto First Nation, David Fiero of Westbank First Nation and Ryan Bevan of the Rainbow Tribe to create a set of tokens based on one. A type of indigenous drum that Fiero has been crafting for over 20 years. The collection is said to be a journey to connect digital spaces with real space, education and industry and build a renewable future for the next generation.

HerstoryDAO (HSD) is a DAO established to improve the voices of black women, women and non-binary identifying NFT artists. HSD has no single founder and no function without a leadership personality. Instead, it is run by a core team of founding members, including prominent crypto-artists Sin Bahati And Diana Sinclair.

At its core, HSD is a collection of physical and virtual art dedicated to preserving and enjoying the stories of marginal crypto makers. While acknowledging that the NFT space could do much more to empower missing artists as a whole, Bahati, Sinclair and the rest of the HSD team have teamed up in an effort to unboard colored women in the NFT.

Fireworks during your day

Your Daytime Fireworks has created a multi-part NFT project Award-winning international artist Kai Guo-qiang In collaboration with NFT Production Studio / Platform TRlab. The collection itself offers a digital version of Guo-qiang’s alluring real-life fireworks display, where it serves as an interactive NFT art experience with extensive projects.

Gender Unicorns is a gamified PFP NFT project aimed at supporting gender diversity and building a respectful community where individuals can express their gender experiences, concerns and challenges. Although the project has not yet been launched, it is said to be the first NFT game to promote gender diversity, equality and acceptance through interactive gender alliances.

With more than 20 different gender alliances, the gamified aspect of the project allows users to play a gender-neutral card game that emphasizes cooperation and kindness. The project website also has a gender directory that serves as an educational tool for users to learn about gender diversity. Once launched, this directory will also evolve based on community feedback and experience.

DEPSONE - Akumal - NFT-4- Good

Every year, artists visit the town of Akumale (a small village in the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico) to decorate the city walls. In an effort to bring this long-running cultural event to Web3, Third Rail Art, a street-art NFT platform has sponsored an NFT collection to bring Akumal Art to the blockchain with NFT 4 Good.

With NFT 4 Good, the Third Rail has created an animated digital version of 18 murals painted during the Akumal Festival. Each of these 18 pieces is available for sale on the Polygon Blockchain as a limited edition. While potential collectors are not able to purchase these NFTs with crypto (local currency only), NFT 4 Good Collection is undoubtedly a unique and significant effort that explains how the future of underdeveloped regions like Akumal can shape industries and NFTs.
