Magic Eden Solana gets sassy on Twitter about the NFT
It was recently seen on Twitter that Magic Eden is being ‘sassy’ for OpenSea and is being ridiculed on Twitter after initially tweeting about the Ethereum-based marketplace, OpenSea, Solana project. Magic Eden apparently still thinks they are still Solana leaders, and does not want to give that title to Opency.
Twitter drama
In the past, the social media managers of big companies have taken an interesting position with their content strategies, just to name a few, from Rainier to Duolingo. Now, Magic Eden is next, as they have ridiculed their new competitor Opency on the Twitter platform.
OpenSea’s original tweet simply states: “A Solana project thread” which many Solana projects have liked. Then, Magic Eden Replied rudely: “A Solana Project Thread. This is what it is
When you don’t DYOR ”in a clearly sarcastic tone. This response tweets “proportionate” OpenSea’s original tweet as it sits at 3,032 likes at the time of writing, with OpenSea sitting at just 2,217.
This sarcastic response makes it clear that Magic Eden still thinks they are the leader in the Solana space. This is despite the fact that Openness, the largest NFT marketplace, has just entered the blockchain.
Magic Eden is a brand based in Solana Space, while Opency is a brand based in Ethereum Space. Should they just be in their own lane? That is the question.
Step in the solana of opensi
After OpenSea only worked in Ethereum (and Polygon) based NFT, they recently set foot in the Solana ecosystem. Solana is certainly one of Ethereum’s biggest competitors for the blockchain.
Now, OpenSea is in a Solana beta stage, allowing users to buy and sell Solana NFT in their Marketplace in beta.
It makes sense to move to Ethereum as well as Solana. It not only expands their audience, it also allows them to support for an eco-friendly blockchain. Further, it can allow its users to buy and sell certain NFTs with low gas fees and fast transactions. However, Magic Eden is still the clear leader in Solana.
In the last few weeks, as Ethereum has declined, Solana sales have increased significantly. Solana is always around, with Magic Eden and Solanaart being the top marketplaces. However, Etherium fans often look down on the Solana blockchain, calling it a worse blockchain.

Magic Eden is a Solana NFT marketplace and market leader in space. It allows users to create, buy and sell NFTs in the Solana blockchain.
They have a common marketplace and a minting launchpad built into the platform. Here, some projects selected by the company can mint their NFTs if Magic Eden thinks they are good enough.
Sadly, through this mint launchpad, some projects, including Balloonsville, have turned into a tug of war. Magic Eden was widely criticized for having the things you need to get into it. In the case of Balloonville, they were not explicitly asked for an IDO.
