Unifice buys Marketplace Genie to integrate NFT Trading into its DX – The Defiant

According to a post on the company’s website, Uniswap Labs Genie plans to integrate NFTs into the largest decentralized exchange through the acquisition of an NFT marketplace aggregator.

Established in 2021, Genie allows users to purchase NFT in a single purchase from a variety of marketplaces. The acquisition comes less than two months after NFT Marketplace OpenSea Genie competed with Gem.

Genie has made 18,061 transactions and 8,050 ETH (14.2M) transactions in the last 30 days, according to Dune Analytics. According to DappRadar, this compares with Uniswap V3’s trading volume of 9 129.35B compared to 483,562 transactions in the same period.

The amount of the acquisition was not disclosed.

Uniswap plans to integrate NFTs into developer APIs and widgets to create a developing ecosystem around this resource class.

USDC Airdrop

For those who have used Genie at least once before April 15 or who have a Genie Genesis NFT, Uniswap will airdrop USDC.

This is not Uniswap’s first work with NFT. In 2019, the team launched Unisocks, linking physical socks to NFTs, and allowing tokens to be traded through a liquidity pool and bonding curve similar to their DEX fungible assets.

“We see NFT as another value format in the growing digital economy – not an ecosystem separate from the ERC20s – and they are already an important gateway to Web3,” the group wrote in a June 21 memo.
