Graffiti artist Alec Monopoly’s metamuseum opens in Sandbox

It has been confirmed that graffiti artist and DJ, Alec Monopoly’s Metamuseum is officially opening at The Sandbox. This comes after Monopoly launched its ‘Rags to Riches’ NFT collection last month.

Meta Museum in Sandbox

Sandbox’s metamuseum is set to be a gathering place for artists’ fans. In LAND’s area, users will be able to view new art, enjoy parties and live music from Alec, and access limited edition NFTs.

Alec Monopoly speaks on the platform. He said: “Sandbox is the leading Web3 metaverse and I’m thrilled to partner and collaborate with them. From accessories to avatars to my new foray into electronic music, The Sandbox offers so many possibilities for me to share my creative energy with the community. “

It will be interesting to see how Alec Monopoly’s IRL artwork and his NFT artwork combine on land with the ‘Rags to Richie’ collection.

Who is Alec Monopoly?

Alec Monopoly is a famous graffiti artist and DJ originally from New York City, moving to LA in 2006. Through his work, he is most famous for using the Monopoly board game character ‘Mr Monopoly’.

Many celebrities have bought his work. The list extends to names like Philip Plain, Miley Cyrus, Snoop Dogg, Seth Rogen and Iggy Azalea. The artist name, ‘Alec Monopoly’ is not his real name, which is still unknown to his fans. In an attempt to hide her facial identity, she is often seen wearing a mask when posting on social media.

Outside of his art career, Monopoly also sees himself as a brand ambassador for Swiss watchmaker, TAG Heuer. Apart from this he is a budding DJ. His work has so far strengthened his Instagram audience of 1.4 million fans.
