$45M stolen with Nomad Bridge hacked – The Defiant
Nomad, a protocol that allows users to transfer digital assets between different blockchains, was actively hacked on Monday evening.
As of 7:15pm New York time, the attacker(s) have dumped $45M in Bitcoin, Ether and various stablecoins and more than $100M in cryptocurrencies wrapped from the protocol. The risk remains.

The hack comes just days after Nomad unveiling The full list of investors participating in its $22M seed round includes heavyweights Coinbase Ventures, Wintermute, 1kx and Polychain Capital.
Monday’s hack is the latest to target crypto “bridges” that allow the movement of cryptocurrencies and other digital assets across otherwise incompatible blockchains. Earlier this year, Axe Infinity’s Ronin Bridge lost over $600M in a hack.
“At Nomad, our goal is to make communicating across blockchains safer,” Nomad said last week. “We believe that secure cross-chain messaging is the key to unifying the DeFi ecosystem and unlocking the true power and potential of the block space, wherever it may be.”
