Upcoming Drops: August 16-22
Let’s face it: the NFT space moves really fast. Given how quickly things can change in the metaverse, a week in NFTs can become a month IRL.
Don’t get us wrong — the more people into space, the merrier. But with the constant flow of great art and ideas, it’s getting hard to keep up with all the news, launches and general happenings.
Well, you can put the days of endless Twitter and Discord scrolling behind you, because we’ve put together a weekly list of upcoming NFT drops that you definitely don’t want to miss. Here’s what to watch this week.
LORE_II
WHO: Reuben Ireland
What: Four multi-edition works, with a fifth award for holders of all four
When: August 15 @ 6:30 pm ET
Where: Nifty Gateway
Why: LORE_II marks the second installment of Ireland’s LORE series: a collection of works with a distinctively “fuzzy and fluid storytelling style”. Like Ireland’s previous forays into exploring themes of divination and folk symbolism, each piece of LORE_II is “constructed as a disruption of the process of the end.” Through this, collectors have the opportunity to own a truly unique piece from this digital artist’s portfolio.
Mask Obscura

WHO: Jenny Pasanen
What: Four acts, each consisting of four short pieces
When: August 16 @ 6:30 pm ET
Where: Makerplace
Why: Pasanen employs AI tools like Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) to drive his creative process, manipulating the output he’s given until the work becomes his own. His latest project Mask Obscura is no different — another dance with his GAN on his digital canvas.
We bleed every color

WHO: Charisma
What: 10 multi-version tasks
When: August 16 @ 6:30 pm ET

Each piece carries Karisma’s signature style, characterized by raw, emotionally explosive energy. With each emotional piece, Karisma hopes to stir the hearts of her fans, making her works “throb in the hearts of the audience.”
the cemetery
WHO: Bilelis
What: 50 tasks are only available through a sacrifice method
When: August 17 @ 2 pm ET
Where: Nifty Gateway
Why: Renowned Edinburgh-based 3D artist Bill Ellis is giving fans the chance to “get down to the graveyard” with his latest collection. Here, the artist has prepared 50 skeletal pieces featuring the artist’s signature style, which aims to channel the beauty of death, witchcraft and the afterlife.
Endure us till death

Each piece depicts moments frozen in time between lovers, gestures and feelings preserved past the mortal coils of the parties involved.
fight club
WHO: Matt Gondek
What: 280 hand-carved bats
When: August 18 @ 6:30 pm ET
Where: Makerplace
Why: Fight Club sees crypto artist Matt Gondek already touch on the themes of “deconstruction, bright colors and punk rock” present in his work. As such, this collection allows his fans to collect the various bats that Gondek has featured in his previous works, including “physical versions, paintings, and white-knuckled hands. [his] toys and sculptures.” Collectors will have the opportunity to own the bat after burning their NFT, or receive a physical print of the image used as the basis for each bat’s NFT.

Where: Nifty Gateway
Why: Julius Horsthuis has long used fractals to express his various creative visions, and his latest project is no different. Fractal Biodiversity sees Horsthuis at his best, who uses “mathematics and infinite geometric patterns” and curates these outputs to find the hidden worlds within.
