EBay’s NFT journey continues with the acquisition of known origins
In a deal that combines the global reach and reputation of an undisputed e-commerce powerhouse with extensive knowledge of a leading platform in the Web3 space, eBay has acquired the UK-based NFT marketplace Known origin. The contract was completed on June 22nd, with Further details of the acquisition have not yet been released.
The acquisition of eBay’s KnownOrigin is an important step for the company Web3 segment, Which began in May with the launch of the Wayne Gretsky-inspired NFT collection. That being said, the collection was available for purchase via Fiat Payments, so far, the company has only flirted with the idea of implementing crypto payments on its platform. However, with the KnownOrigin team now on its side, the global marketplace could adopt more blockchain technology by the end of 2022.
KnownOrigin NFT Marketplace was founded in Manchester in 2018 and has since cemented itself as a technology-driven platform for artists to create, list and sell NFT. Speaking of groundbreaking deals, its CEO David Moore It was to say:
