Metaverse 101 Meta starring Keke Palmer

Meta debuts with his new Metaverse 101 TV personality, Keke Palmer, to demystify the concept of the Metaverse. The video series titled ‘Are We There It’ aims to answer what is possible within the metaverse and what can be achieved in the future.

The series features Keck Palmer chatting with metaverse experts about the growing sector. They drive through the metaverse.

Creative X, Meta’s in-house creative agency, is producing the documentary series, which runs through the end of August.

As Meta puts it,

“Part Bill Nye the Science Guy, part Comedian in Cars Getting Coffee, ‘Are We There Yet?’ A Metaverse 101, each episode will feature conversations between Palmer and various creators, artists, experts, and more, as they travel through a futuristic vision of the Metaverse in a car and highlight how the Metaverse will help us feel closer. Collaborative, and built not just by a few, but by all of us.”

Informal chats discuss metaverse-related developments and explain concepts such as immersive and social worlds.

In the first episode, KK Palmer hosts Mater Vice President, Vishal Shah, on the journey of discovery, the future vision of virtual worlds and Metaverse-related developments.

They work back and forth as they discuss what is possible in the Metaverse, where the Metaverse stands now, and how the Metaverse Worlds may develop in the future.

Asked by KK Palmer to describe the metaverse, Vishal replied, “The easiest way to describe the metaverse is the next step in the Internet.”

The main difference, he says, is that “we can feel like we’re there with other people, in a way that we can’t feel in our digital experience.”

He goes further and points out another big difference between Web2 and Web3, using meta as an example.

In Web3, instead of building Meta, Horizon Worlds allows users to create their own unique experiences.

Now, future, never

The first episode from Meta also features a fun game of Now, Future, Never, where Keke Palmer gets answers to Web3’s limitations.

As for what you can do nowadays, Vishal points out how manufacturers and brands are already setting up shop and creating games and digital experiences in VR environments. He mentions how you can visit haunted houses and comedy clubs, relax at spas, gamble, go to nightclubs and even get married.

Facebook before meta

Since Mark Zuckerberg rebranded Facebook as Meta, the company has suffered losses. However, Mark is convinced that the metaverse is the future, and we wholeheartedly agree.

Think later

Enjoyed watching ‘And Are We Still There’ with KK. He gives the show an ‘everyday guy’ feel while having simplistic answers related to the metaverse that most people should understand.

In future episodes, Keke Palmer will take us further down the rabbit hole He’ll be chatting with more Metaverse geeks, artists, creators and other special guests. They will talk about the latest Metaverse developments.
