Hxouse has launched its first Web3 tour in collaboration with Weekend

We are in a significant moment in history, where the world of technology is no longer dominated by the privileged and social elites. Hxouse is an incubator and accelerator program that provides opportunities for young creators to define the moment who would otherwise not have access to the tools and guidelines needed to succeed and hear their voices.

Dedicated to leveling the playing field for people from underdeveloped communities, it provides individuals with education, mentoring and a network of world-renowned experts in technology and industry.

Now, the team is focusing its resources on Web3.

Hxouse has recently teamed up with other industry leaders to launch the Hxouse Labs Global Tour. It brings artists together with technologists and gives them the opportunity to collaborate on an NFT challenge. In partnership with The Weeknd and Binance, Hxouse Labs will visit cities around the world to bring together the world’s top thinkers, creators and artists, with the goal of re-imagining the future of NFT.

In particular, through the program, individuals will have the opportunity to challenge established narratives about Web3 and reconsider what is possible by creating a new concept for an NFT – which may actually be brought to market.

In the coming months, Hxouse Labs will travel to cities to find the next wave of emerging thinkers to participate in a series of 13 one-day challenges on four different continents. Individuals selected for the program will have the opportunity to develop an NFT project in a sprint facilitated by industry experts.

How it works

Initially, individuals interested in participating in the program must apply through the official website by July 1, 2022.

From there, the team will review applicants and select a total of 30-35 participants in each city. On the day of the event, selected participants will work in groups on a day-long design sprint and provide a presentation based on a specific challenge statement, which each group will receive at the beginning of the day.

High level goal? To re-imagine the NFT experience by designing an NFT concept for The Weekend’s “After Hours Till Dawn Tour.”

To successfully tackle the challenge, each group will eventually have to create a immersive, experience by presenting their final ideas to a panel of experts.

After the presentation, the panel will deliberately select the winner for each challenge. Winners will be invited to watch The Weekend show the following night and will have the chance to win a chance to collaborate with XO and Hxouse on their final product.

Operating in parallel with The Weekend’s “After Hours Till Dawn Tour”, the first episode of the program will begin in North America. Specifically, it will launch on July 7, 2022. The first program will be held at The Weekend’s Hometown in Toronto, Canada. From there, the tour will hit New York, Chicago, Detroit, Miami, San Francisco and Los Angeles over the next two months. The second phase of the four-continent tour will begin in 2022.

Why it matters

Driven by his own lack of opportunities in the early days, Taylor credits his current success to various friends and mentors who gave him access to the software and resources needed to make his dream a reality. Now, Taylor says he wants to give back in the same way. In particular, he notes that the Hxouse program is about providing creative entrepreneurs who may lack resources or opportunities with “more eyes, access and notoriety” about their work.
