Why TCAF uninvited NFT artist pink cat?

TCAF is one of the most prestigious events that celebrates comics – and comics only. However, the TCAF came under fire when they announced the Pink Cat as one of the festival’s special guests.

First, Pink Cat is an NFT artist, and a comic festival that highlights an artist whose main focus is NFT Unusual. The situation escalates rapidly when social media users discover its online history. They saw that he had found some artwork in the past.

A tweet urging TCAC about the pink cat ৷
A Twitter user calls the Toronto Comics to invite a pink cat and show an example of his alleged traced artwork.

In addition to his controversial art, he also insulted community artists, exploited black culture for profit, and made transphobic comments.

The pink cat’s comment came after she broke up

Moyle was contacted about the polygon problem and he replied to them with the following message:

“Yeah these guys invited me to break up. They pay for flight hotels etc, I didn’t even know who they were. Strange. It’s not my world, I’m a real life artist, I think about organizations or trade shows. No, I have my own followers. It’s not a religion to follow the mainstream. The LA Times called me General Jade Garfield, we’re not in the same league.

TCAF’s statement about the problem

On Tuesday, TCAF executives and organizers issued a statement inviting Moyle to address the concerns of those who called the event.

According to TCAF, they first made an invitation to Moyle based on their daily digital comics work on Instagram. However, they acknowledged that at the time of the invitation, they were not aware of Moyle’s online behavior, complaint tracking and theft.

“We apologize for the inconvenience this program has caused. We made a mistake. As a commitment to our community, we will use this as a learning moment as we move forward as an organization, and re-examine the checks and balances we currently use to process our programming decisions, ”the statement said.
