Features of Art: The Rise of the Gene in Tejos | NFT Culture | NFT and crypto art Interviews and more

Born from the Harlem Renaissance In New York City in the 1920s, the creation of Zine was synonymous with different subcultures, art movements, and literature for decades. For strangers, a zine in the broadest sense is a self-published work of writing, art, photography, comics or a mixture of all the previous ones and is usually created by the creators to reject or reject mainstream publications. With freedom of expression and play, independent autonomy, local community support, and the roots of underground communication, the Zainas are finding a new important place within the Tezos blockchain community that highlights artists and writers from traditionally under-represented backgrounds worldwide.

Typically, these Web3 zines are simply .pdfs. Each issue is available for viewing by anyone wishing to digitally thumb through the promotion of accessibility to information, while collectors are able to purchase a limited number of versions available to support the makers of Zines. Some Zines – such as The Tickle – even have subscription tokens so that interested collectors automatically airdrop new versions to their wallets, like the special edition art of artists featuring Zine with extra flashes. With the growth of culture and community, the distribution model presents itself with more innovation in the facilities of formatting and collection.

While this isn’t a comprehensive list of genes currently available in Tezos, here are a few highlights of the publication that are exceptional in terms of curating each of the artists and writers with their own particular subject matter.

Tickle

At the forefront of the Tejos Zine movement is The Tickle – ওয়ার Inverhole – who recently celebrated his 1 year birthday with 52 editions has now published a collection of 100 Tezos based artists and writers from around the world. Released every Friday and hosted by Twitter Spaces to talk to featured artists simultaneously, The Tickle is a love letter for countless artists working within the Tejos ecosystem. Personally, I like to work through the featured works on these pages and the artists ’kaleidoscope to discover new artists.

Sloth gin

Created by র্ক Burkabayaramart And weird_realm, Sloth Zine is a comic artist focused zine that encourages us to slow down and take a break. A version with a one-page black and white comic drawing in each featuring 30-50 artists, the creators have featured all the wonderful painters in Tezos internationally. Although the comics are thought of as a quick format digestion, every page of this gene feels meditative on a Sunday morning comic.

Helix gene

Helix Zine – By established @ Arditi And damlasahinbas_ – A photography gene designed to be a source of inspiration for each other and to discover new ways of creative thinking. The uniqueness of this gene is that it is a chain structure – where the first photo of the gene inspires the next photo, each artist inspiring the next without knowing who the previous artist is. It creates an overly visual narrative that is a combined flow of consciousness.

Right click Save

Right click Save Although not an unchained zine, Tezos and beyond are more than worth mentioning for their work in preserving the legacy and preservation of the early crypto art movement and digital exotic artists. Run by alexestorick Under its umbrella @clubnft – An Artnome project – but editorially independent, this publication is worth a dive for those who want to critically discuss the industry on the blockchain.
