PreMint Hacked: Don’t Click Any Links!
Early today, July 17, attackers hacked the website of NFT service provider PREMINT Do not click on any links or sign any transactions on the website. Although some users have reported that attackers stole their NFTs, we still don’t know the full extent of the damage. At the time of writing, PREMINT’s website was down and the team has yet to confirm if they have regained access to the website. Let’s take a look at what we know so far about PreMint Hack.
PREMINT HACK: WHAT HAPPENED?
This morning, many took to Twitter to issue warnings about PREMINT’s hack, warning users against making any transactions on the project’s website. For the uninitiated, PREMINT is an NFT service provider that allows top NFT artists to create access lists and raffles for community members.
“Please do not sign any transaction that says set authorization for all!” PREMINT tweeted The project added that they are currently looking into the reports.
By authorizing the token, you’re essentially authorizing the hacker to move your NFTs without having to sign anything again. However, you may revoke this consent.
To check if your wallet has been compromised in the PreMint hack, go to Etherscan and check your wallet history. If you notice a set authorization function anywhere, it means that you have signed a ‘set authorization for all’ transaction. In your history, you’ll also be able to see any transactions you didn’t make yourself—a clear sign that your wallet has been compromised.
What to do if your wallet is compromised
If your wallet is compromised, here’s what you can do:
- go revoke.cash or etherscan.io/tokenapprovalchecker To withdraw permission. Here, you can revoke access to each authorized NFT by clicking the ‘Revoke’ button. Once withdrawn, go to Etherscan. Under the log, if the data section says “False”, it means you have revoked your authorization
- Alternatively, you can move all your assets to a different wallet for now.

The PREMINT hack isn’t the first this week
Since last year, there has been a significant increase in NFT hacks, with PREMIT being the latest victim Earlier today, we reported that a hacker targeted Twitter account of NFT artist DeeKay Friday. According to reports, the hack resulted in a loss of $150,000 in NFT.
With NFT scams on the rise, it is now more important than ever to be extra cautious when approving any transaction. Always double check the authenticity of any NFT drop, even if it comes from a verified account.
