Let’s face it: the NFT space moves really fast. Given how quickly things can change in the metaverse, a week in NFTs can become a month IRL.
Don’t get us wrong — the more people into space, the merrier. But with the constant flow of great art and ideas, it’s getting hard to keep up with all the news, launches and general happenings.
Well, you can put the days of endless Twitter and Discord scrolling behind you, because we’ve put together a weekly list of upcoming NFT drops that you definitely don’t want to miss. Here’s what to watch this week.
Nickelodeon NFT Drop
WHO: Nickelodeon and I am happy today
What: 10,000 packs of Nickelodeon NFTs.
When: July 18 for whitelisted users, July 19 for the public.
Where: Official website of Nickelodeon NFT
Why: In partnership with RECUR, Nickelodeon is finally ready to drop its long-awaited NFT collection. The initial public drop is set to consist of one PFP NFT each featuring two of the most iconic 90s cartoon characters: Rugrats And Hey Arnold! Additionally, Steve Aoki has created remixes of music from the two cartoons, which will be used to launch an upcoming ‘mashup’ program that will allow collectors to combine character traits to create new unique collectibles.

WHO: Cryptocubes In collaboration with 15 fellow crypto artists Ben Mauro, Macro diesand more
What: 15 one-of-a-kind NFTs
When: July 18 @ 6:30pm EDT
Where: Nifty Gateway
Why: CrytoCubes, along with the 15 crypto artists it commissioned to create pieces for the collection, will hold a truly limited auction later today at 6:30 PM EDT. Each artist combines images of CryptoCubes with their own artistic style to create a one-of-a-kind NFT. Auctions will last just five minutes each.

Why: With this collection, Spanish painter, illustrator and artist Oscar Lawrence hopes to translate what he identifies as the “five universal emotions” – hope, disbelief, spirituality, strength and adventure – onto the proverbial canvas. Each piece in the collection carries Lawrence’s characteristic playful, chaotic and surrealistic style and is completely animated in its own right.

What: Collection mechanics TBA

Where: Nifty Gateway
Why: Illustrator and designer Bubba Viedma is set to drop his next NFT collection, Unholy, on July 20. Taking equal bits of inspiration from science fiction and the occult, Viedma hopes to use the project as a vehicle to explore “primitive beings” “in the unholy places beyond the rainbow.”
Celestial Living

WHO: Daniela Atfield
What: Collection mechanics TBA
When: July 22 @ 6:30pm EDT
Where: Makerplace
Why: South African line artist Daniela Atfield, also known as Daniela Doodles, makes her Makerplace debut with her new piece: Celestial Living. Through his distinctive style of line art, he hopes to revive the sense of wonder we may have lost while living in the modern world by using neon-lit lines here.

Why: Anonymous street artist Alec Monopoly debuts his NFT art with the Rags to Richie collection. With this collection, the artist hopes to carry over the success he’s had to Web3 with his IRL art career. After this collection, the artist has much more planned for the community he has built over his long career, with merchandise, a digital art gallery, and a P2E game in the works, among other initiatives.
Shark Week NFT

WHO: Discovery Channel’s Shark Week team
What: Five eco-friendly Shark Week NFTs on sale starting July 20
When: 20 July – 31 July
Where: Nifty, with exclusive drops available to Discovery Channel viewers
Why: In anticipation of the return of Shark Week this July 24, Shark Week Team has teamed up with Nifty to offer fans of the highly anticipated programming block the chance to collect some truly exclusive collectibles. These NFT cards will feature designs of some of the world’s most iconic shark species, from hammerhead sharks and whale sharks to the ubiquitous great white. In addition to the five Shark Week NFT sales starting July 20, anyone who tunes into the Shark Week live broadcast from July 24 to 31 at 9 pm EDT will be eligible for free NFT distribution via QR code.
