Metaverse is here. As the world’s largest companies begin to navigate their strategies to create elegant and beautiful digital experiences, it was only a matter of time before one of the world’s top architecture firms began exploring the NFT / Metaverse experience. The result is that Habitats is an immersive architecture project that will probably become the “blue chip” of metavers architecture. They may not be the first, but they are the first to get it right.

Habitats represents a first-of-its-kind research project run by SHoP Architects, a world-class architecture firm that will use Metaverse as a platform for innovation and design in the real world. SHoP is a digital native architecture firm, the team feels they are uniquely positioned to explore Metaverse as a natural extension of their existing work.

SHoP is a world-renowned architecture firm

Many projects launch with a comprehensive roadmap of what they want to achieve, but often this is because they have not yet achieved much before launching. With accommodation, it’s not like that. SHoP Architects is an award-winning firm responsible for designing many notable projects, including YouTube HQ, Uber HQ, Barclays Center and Super Tall Towers around the world. In the real world, SHoP already integrates the use of data and generative algorithms into their design process, and we’re implementing the same process as we approach Metaverse.

Accommodation is higher than NFT

Accommodation is not just an NFT collection. When we launch with a Genesis collection in May 2022, we are also launching a larger research and development project, as we aim to push Metavers in a positive direction. The team will be located individually, roaming the world of both physical and digital design and we believe we can act as a bridge between the two.

Research and access became practically useful

Habitats NFT collectors will be able to join the team’s research efforts and serve as an essential voice along the way. Collectors will be able to actively participate (e.g., assist in metavers development design, suggest fields for exploration, participate in design competitions) and passively (e.g., receive exclusive updates from the team, preliminary preview). Collectors will also be able to use their accommodation in a variety of ways. Accommodations will bring unlockable content that will allow holders to use them in different metaverse worlds. Day 1, they will be usable in DCL. They will be able to access the files for 3D printing and other desired experiences.

SHoP is bringing a whole team together

SHoP has dedicated many resources to this research and development project, with a dedicated team leading the Genesis collection. They have partnered with a Web3 development team, COBA Labs, to assist with site design, Web3 integration and smart contracting. Finally, Habitats leans on a group of third-party advisors, who have extensive Metaverse, web3, and real estate experience.
