Web3 Collab Drops For Snoop Dogg ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ – NFT News Today
Eight months after releasing his 19th studio album, “Back on Death Row,” legendary rapper Snoop Dogg is back. Snoop has teamed up with Web3 startup Astro Project to release an NFT-themed video based on the “Curb Your Enthusiasm” theme song called “Crip Ya Enthusiasm.” The collaboration will allow fans to access music video assets as NFTs.
Web3 Startup Astro Project designed the video
Behind the Astro project is the digital environment in which the video takes place. It is borrowed from the “Curb Your Enthusiasm” theme song with Snoop’s avatar based on the show’s protagonist, Larry David. The video opens with the artist driving behind a police car before crashing into it. He then goes to a donut shop with a NFT Holders Only sign and meets Tupac, former label mate of Death Row.
When the video was released, Astro Project launched 11,111 digital donuts that fans could use as digital keys to access video assets such as various animated 3D characters. And to make things easier for participants, the company has released tutorials that guide Donut owners to create their own scenes and animations using Unreal Engine, which was used to create music videos.
Astro Project chose to use donut images as access keys because it’s the first thing users/artists learn to create when they join the platform. Since Donuts started trading on OpenSea last week, their trading volume has been around 0.333 ETH. As of the time this piece was created one could mint a donut for $0.084 ETH, or $111, and around 288 items have been minted so far.
Songs can be minted as NFT
Also, after Snoop released his album, the artist and Gala Music launched a separate line of NFTs where fans could purchase individual songs as digital collectibles. Song NFTs are going for 0.8 ETH on OpenC, which is about $1,118. To date, NFTs have seen over $1.2 million in trading volume since their launch.
The collaboration with Astro Project is Web3’s latest foray for Snoop, one of the pioneers of digital assets. He is involved in various NFT projects such as Bored Ape Yacht Club and even owns a virtual land in Sandbox.
