Surprise! EBay is launching an NFT collection

While Instagram’s entry into the NFT space has created waves in the community over the past week, it’s far from the first Web 2 major to transform. Just over a year ago, e-commerce gambler eBay announced that it would begin listing NFTs for sale on its site. Now, one of the oldest organizations on the Internet has launched its own collection.

EBay Green has partnered with NFT platform OneOf to unveil its Genesis NFT collection – a series of animated 3D interpretations of the most iconic athletes to enjoy its cover. Sports illustrated. By hosting its services in this proof-of-stack blockchain, OneOf says that transactions on its platform are two million times more energy-efficient than transactions on platforms using the Ethereum blockchain.
