FC Porto became the first EU football team in the Upland Metavers
Upland today announced a strategic partnership with FC Porto to bring European football to Metavers. Overall, both teams are looking to shape the future of Fandom in Metaverse. This will include various NFT collections and a virtual football stadium.
Everything about FC Porto’s entry into the Upland Metavers
FC Porto, Portugal’s 2022 Premier League winners, are making new ground in the Upland Metavers. The new partnership will see the football club build a virtual stadium in Upland, as well as collectible teams and player NFTs.
Significantly, the Upland Metavers are real-world maps. As a result, FC Porto’s entry into Upland will open up the Portuguese city of Porto Metavers. This means that fans will be able to purchase NFT features that are mapped to their real-world address. Its focal point must be construction Estadio Dragao (Dragon Stadium) Upland.
Of course, its NFTs – the first suite of NFTs from a European football club – will also be a big draw for fans. To that end, fans will be able to collect and trade NFT in Upland. The unique mechanics of the platform will even include player-owned and managed stores in the virtual features of Metaverse.
Excited fans don’t have to wait too long to enjoy their team’s virtual endeavors. In fact, the first episode of the FC Porto rollout in Upland will take place in the 2022/23 season.
