IRVINE, Calif., July 15, 2022 – Kia America is launching a new creative broadcast campaign that highlights the uniqueness of one of the brand’s most iconic models, the 2023 Kia Soul. Debuting today, the 30-second spot features NFTs as talent and includes a unique QR code embedded within the creative. Powered by the Sweet NFT platform, when visitors scan the code with a smartphone, they can easily receive one of the 10,100 Kia-themed NFTs and it will be seamlessly deposited and stored in their own Sweet blockchain wallet.
Created by David & Goliath, Kia’s creative agency of record, the campaign titled “Built for You Are Whor” features a 30-second spot that follows three popular DASK NFT characters as they ride in a new 2023 Kia Soul and drive through city streets. runs Stopping for a midnight snack at a burger stand, NFTs tend to do more than a few doubletakes as they walk through the drive-thru and pick up their order. NFTs continue down the winding Canyon Road, where they set up an elegant outdoor table and enjoy both their food and the view, making the experience uniquely their own. The NFTs are part of DASK’s NFTs Collection, high-quality, 3D computer-generated collectibles with over 150 handcrafted features.
“Through its iconic styling, endless adaptability, capability and advanced technology, the Soul Boxy redefined the small-car segment when it was first launched in 2009 and has continuously evolved to appeal to generations of customers with its striking good looks, practicality and efficiency. ” said Russell Wager, Vice President, Marketing, Kia America. “The spirit is as individualistic as NFTs, and as a brand, Kia always innovates to stay ahead.”
10,100 Kia NFTs include special edition generative DASK + Kia themed NFTs. Each digital collectible in this limited supply draws inspiration from details on both the new 2023 Kia Soul and the DASK NFTs featured in the spot.
“With Kia, we want the work to be as innovative as the vehicle itself. So we thought, what if we could be the first to take a few NFTs along for the ride? Living, breathing and of course driving, like never before,” said Ben Purcell, chief creative officer of David & Goliath. “And who better to capture the multi-hyphenate soul driver than the personality-hugging DASK skeleton? Because after all, no matter who you are or where you come from, you have a soul.”
Tom Mizzone, Founder and CEO of Sweet, said, “We are truly proud to once again team up with such a recognized brand to launch this unique collection to the general public.
“Furthermore, this is a significant milestone for mass adoption as it marks the first NFT drop to be embedded in a national TV ad. Thus, it will be seen by millions of people, many of whom are experiencing the world of Web 3 for the first time.”
Now in Kia stores, the 2023 Soul features refreshed design elements inside and out, including a simplified lineup, new smile-inducing colors and two option packages packed with technology and convenience.
