Old Navy and BAYC partner for new Bored Ape t-shirt line

Due to a new partnership, Old Navy has released Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) t-shirts on its website. The shirt listed on the Old Navy/Gap website depicts BAYC #7285 on a gray t-shirt. The shirt is currently priced at $18.99.

Old Navy and BAYC Partnership/T-Shirt

Old Navy and BAYC partnered together to create this t-shirt. What is interesting about this is that at first glance it does not appear that BAYC #7285 is owned by Old Navy at all. Instead, the owner, discovered by The Bored Ape Gazette, appears to be Twitter user, @dora_and_dolly. Typically, licensing rights are reserved for the owner of individual NFTs on the blockchain. So, potentially, in this case, @dora_and_dolly could be Old Navy, or they’ve compensated them for this particular deal.

You can find the t-shirt here on the Gap/Old Navy site.

About the Old Navy

Old Navy is an American apparel retailer owned by Gap since 1993. It was founded in 1994 and since then has created 1,106 locations and as of 2019, had revenues of $4 billion.

The largest of the Old Navy stores are its flagship stores, located in New York City, Seattle, Chicago, San Francisco, Manila and Mexico City.

Although they have branches in other places, most of their stores are in the US and North America.

The future of fashion collabs

According to GQ, this Old Navy x BAYC collaboration is only the first from the US fashion giant. Apparently, this is part of an upcoming line that will feature similar characters from several popular NFT collections.

Hopefully, we’ll see some more blue-chip NFTs circulating in Old Navy’s in-store and online via merchandise creation. According to Hypebeast , we’re set to see more pieces featuring six different Bored Apes, 11 Mutant Apes, a Cryptopunk, and later this season, six KlonX NFTs in collaboration with virtual sneaker maker RTFKT.
