Artist Matt Gondek will launch NFT of custom painted baseball bats
Artist Matt Gondek is all set to launch NFT versions of custom-painted baseball bats in a collection titled ‘Fight Club’. Gondek is a rebellious and subversive artist who once melted Homer Simpson. The collection pre-sale for Fight Club goes live on August 18th, officially launching in September.
‘Fight Club’ collection
Matt Gondek’s ‘Fight Club’ collection is the NFT version of the baseball bat. They are being used as a metaphor for deconstruction, bright colors, and punk rock elements. These are elements that are prevalent in Gondek’s work to this day.
NFT is an image of a physical bat, which you can also get. Each physical bat is hand carved with spike placement, painted and hand wrapped grip tape. They are different, their uniqueness coming from both the organic nature of their creation and the intentionally designed color and pattern variations.
Each Fight Club NFT can be burned for physical contact, or the owner can keep the NFT and instead receive a print that is hand-embellished and signed by Matt Gondek. The physical bats will be signed and numbered and the final number of remaining physical bats will be determined by how many NFTs are burned.
