Emergents TCG, a worthy contender in the trading card games industry, has just launched a public beta
Emergent’s trading card game (TCG) public beta is officially live, according to a press release from Interpop, the company behind its development. This highly anticipated TCG game works similarly to Magic (The Gathering) and Pokemon. However, unlike its counterparts, Emergent’s TCG uses blockchain technology to introduce a better experience for gaming enthusiasts.
Built on the Tezos blockchain, this newly launched TCG game allows players to create a collection of cards, tapping into the Emergent’s Expansive Universe that includes five comic book series. Players can trade their cards on NFT marketplaces such as Rarible.com or Objkt.com, both of which support Interpop’s digital collections. This flexibility allows Emergent TCG users to strengthen their decks by buying what they need and selling what they no longer need.
Unlike most complex NFT card games that exist today, Emergents TCG is not dependent on a tokenic model. Anyone who has played a TCG game before can easily get started, with or without any blockchain knowledge.
“Our goal has never been to make the best blockchain game ever, but to make a game that’s better than what it’s always been – whether it’s so-called free-to-play or the complex Diffie mechanics of blockchain games – that can go toe-to-toe with the best in class trading card games. And recapture some of the excitement that comes from buying, selling and trading Magic or Pokemon cards in the real world,” noted Brian David-Marshall, CEO of Interpop.
A special drop for the launch
With the launch of Public Beta, Emergents TCG is ready to celebrate this milestone with a special promo-card-pack ‘Super Booster Drop’. The cards featured in this drop come in three different tiers; Super Booster, Rare Super Booster and Epic Super Booster. Each of them has advanced features including Super Booster exclusive NFT cards, player avatars and NFT comic books.
The Emergent’s Universe comic cover art, created by famous artists including Colin Doran, Amanda Conner, Steve Ellis and Juan Doe, will also be included on the NFT cards. Even more interesting, players who purchase these special card packs have a random chance to land on a 1-of-1 “1st Minted” Super Booster Exclusive NFT Card or a page of Original Comic Art NFTs published by Scott Kolins at Interpop Comics.
As for the pre-sale schedule, it will begin on August 18th, giving priority to whitelisted participants to purchase their preferred card packs. The general public sale will open a day later, after which anyone will be able to purchase Super Booster Cards with Tezos (XTZ) tokens or credit cards. Looking to the future, Interpop is poised to scale its payment modes to accommodate other crypto assets including BTC, ETH and stablecoins.
