LG Smart TVs enable users to buy, sell and display NFT

It wasn’t that long ago that Samsung entered the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Hot on its heels, now comes an announcement surrounding LG NFTs This is LG allowing its smart TV users to buy, sell and display NFT. Its new marketplace, LG Art Lab, will become host to high-quality digital artwork.

This step is another exciting one in the development of NFTs. The ability to access them from your TV screen is another step in increasing their popularity and opening them up to the masses

There are some limitations to keep in mind

As it stands now, LG NFTs and LG Art Lab are only accessible in the US. Of course, it makes sense that LG would trial its offering in a specific marketplace. Hopefully, of course, a successful launch will spread it around the world so that everyone benefits.

In addition to geographic restrictions, you’re also limited in terms of the TV you’ll need. Only LG TVs running webOS 5.0 or later can access the app, which requires access to the LG Art Lab Marketplace.

First NFT drop

The LG NFT app can be downloaded from the TV’s home screen. Once you have it, you will be able to buy and sell NFT which is made available through LG’s NFT drop. We don’t have long to wait until the first drop. On September 22nd there will be a set of metallic looking NFTs coming from sculptor Barry X Ball

Buying LG NFT is easy

While we’re still waiting for the first NFT to drop, there’s plenty to say that LG Art Labs has plenty on the way. While the marketplace is starting to fill up, LG has made it as easy as possible to shop.

When you find an LG NFT of your choice, you need to scan the QR code displayed on the screen. This will open the Walipto app on your phone so you can complete the purchase. Before you buy you need to make sure you have USD coins in your wallet.

Use of headers

While most NFT platforms are built on the Ethereum or Solana blockchains, the LG NFT platform is built on Hedera. What makes it different from other marketplaces is that Hedera does not operate on the blockchain. What is used is an alternative to blockchain known as Hashgraph.

The decision to use Hedera clearly indicates that LG is a governing member of the Hedera network.

Monthly updates

LG Art Lab will see monthly additions from various artists. Any LG NFTs you buy will appear on your TV screen whenever you want them to This can make digital artwork almost like a screen saver or wallpaper when they are not being used.
