Why: Here’s the first PFP drop on the DraftKings Marketplace: SlyCrocs. created by Frankie Nines, these crocs “migrated from the depths of Florida and were spotted on the LA boardwalk.” Owning a SlyCroc will unlock the chance to win DraftKings dollars, free DraftKings Reignmaker packs, as well as rolling contests and entries into contests hosted by DraftKings. With a partnership with SupDucks and DraftKings, the renowned sports betting and fantasy sports website has dipped its toes further into Web3.

Why: Fans of artist William Willoughby III and his blend of surrealist and futuristic themes with high-level 3D artistry are in for a treat this Halloween season. Elements of Self is a collection of animated skulls that vividly depict the common internal conflicts we experience during this journey we call life.

What: A one-of-one film NFT and 5,000 unique photo NFTs
When: October 12 @ 5:00 am ET
Where: Sotheby’s
Why: The Amazonia collection marks the culmination of a decade of work by photographer Salgado. Comprised of 5,000 unique photo NFTs depicting the photographer’s travels across the Amazon, the sheer volume of Salgado work created over the past decade required a five-month curation period. In keeping with Salgado’s strong support for environmental conservation, the collection will proudly call the newly-minted Ethereum blockchain its home when it launches later this week.
Venus Beach

Why: Multimedia artist Pol Kurucz is set to make another addition to his growing portfolio of works featuring a singularly high-camp aesthetic. Venus Beach, her Genesis drop at makerspace, illustrates scenes with real-life models of strange, alien worlds.

San HoloWhat: A generative NFT vinyl collection
When: October 15, time TBA
Where: sound.xyz
Why: With Sun Hollow’s next drop, one of the biggest names in electronic music will further cement the bond between NFT’s visual and sonic realms. Each floating fragment, which includes bits of music (and is a piece of art itself) is set to enable holders to claim physical collectibles to accompany these digital releases. If a holder assembles a complete Sun Hollow track with their pieces, they will be eligible to redeem a limited edition Sun Hollow x Soundmint vinyl.
