Celebrating diversity on Web3 in Zoratopia
The second-annual Zoratopia event – a community-led platform, presented by Jora – was held during NFT.NYC this week. The goal of the event was to showcase the diversity present in the NFT space through an array of innovative manufacturers in all sectors of the NFT and Zora ecosystem.
Throughout the three-day programming, Zoratopia was led by a mix of influential producers, including Latasha, Zora’s own head of community programming. Beginning with yoga and brunch at Gaia Nomaya in Brooklyn on June 21st, the first day’s activity ended with music and art. Several art performances for the day’s guests were titled BXB Love, Blair WYMN, and Gem Gold.
The next day saw an integrated panel of industry leaders. These sections, known as The New Internet Panel, touch on how diversity will play an important role in building tools for emerging mindsets and building the future of Web3. Each event in Zoratopia brings a diversity – and occasionally, a predominantly non-white – audience that spoke to Zora’s inclusive mission, curating events that accurately represent the entire NFT space. A photoshoot was also seen on the second day in the presence of members of the Zora NFT Fame.
On the third and final day of the event, Zora hosted what is undoubtedly one of the biggest initiatives of all NFT.NYC satellite events. From an NFT exhibition to exclusive (and free) access to merchandise for promising participants, the day’s events turn into an exciting afterparty starting at 6pm EDT: Zoratopia Rev. Bashment. Throughout the night, influential works such as TOKiMONSTA, Iman Europe, Mick Jenkins, and Latasha engulfed the stage in two stages.
The performance was accompanied by NFT displays, immersive art installations, and free food and beverage vendors flowing through the Knockdown Center in Queens, New York.
