The graph is ready to expand in the arbitra in Layer 2 Win – The Defiant

Ethereum wants to move more of the top protocols to Layer 2.

The Graph community is reviewing a June 2 proposal to expand the project to Arbitrum, an Ethereum Layer 2 scaling solution, an indexing and query protocol for Web3.

Order of magnitude

If passed, the move would begin to reduce the cost of graph indicators, curators and agents by about 26 times. A statement from Edge & Node, the team behind The Graph, estimates that savings could triple if Arbitram’s upcoming Nitro repeat goes live.

“Placing graphs in Arbitram will reduce the cost of gas to use the protocol …, making decentralized networks practical for the long tail of small and independent DAP developers for whom gas prices are a challenge today,” said Brandon Ramirez, co-founder of The Graph and researcher. Leadership.

Source information

The graph allows developers to create and launch open API dubbed subgroups from which applications can search for data sources, which currently has over 52,000 subgroups. The protocol currently supports data indexing from 34 networks, including Ethereum, Optimism, Alternative Layer 1s, and InterPlanetary file systems. The graph is used by the top Web3 protocols, including Uniswap, Synthetic, Decentraland and Audius.

Edge & Node says L2 will be expanded since the graph’s “first major update” protocol was launched in December 2020. The team noted that Graph will be among the first infrastructure projects to be launched in Layer 2.

Incorrect information

On the same day, The Graph launched Geo, a Web3-native browser powered by its technology.

The browser is designed to fight misinformation by enabling users to unlimitedly verify the source of information online. Users can create and organize any public information such as blog posts, organization ratings, job boards and data.

The proposal was announced during Graph Day, an event held on June 2 at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco to showcase The Graph’s wider community work. The event hosts presentations and discussions from developers and engineers representing the top protocols, including Uniswap, Goldfinch, Gitcoin and Connext.
Graph Hack, a free three-day hackathon hosted at the same venue, will begin on June 3. Participants will compete for prizes with The Graph by creating Daps with experienced creators and learning the best practices.
