Efforts to raise some successful funds through NFT projects
In 2021, when NFTs experienced massive bull racing, many people saw signs of the dollar and saw an opportunity – not to fill their own pockets, but to do some social good. Since then, the NFT has emerged as one of the best ways to raise money for important reasons – from reproductive rights to supporting under-represented artists.
And for good reason.
In the case of PFP-centric fundraisers, charitable NFTs can even encourage individuals in the donor network to join and contribute to the cause. On behalf of the organization, since they will receive grants in cryptocurrency, they also have the option of cashing the funds raised or holding a portion of it as a future investment. In addition, since these funds are hosted on blockchain, users can follow an organization’s paper trail to verify that their funds have ended up in the right place.
With all of this in mind, we’ve compiled a short list of the most significant NFT-driven fundraising efforts seen in space.
NFTs for Ukraine
The ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict has given birth to one of the most urgent humanitarian crises we have seen in modern history. In response, many Ukrainians – even the government itself – are turning to the NFT as a way to raise much-needed funds and Fast. Numerous other individuals and groups around the world have followed suit in providing assistance to Ukraine, as evidenced by the formation of the UkraineDAO at this difficult time. Some Russian artists have even taken part in fundraising efforts in protest. Since Russia first began hostilities with Ukraine in late February 2022, these projects have increasingly raised several thousand dollars.

Riverberat Ukraine, on the other hand, hopes to capture lost beauty in Ukrainian cities ravaged by artillery fire and bloodshed. Funding from these projects has helped partner organizations focus on feeding refugees in the process of escaping conflict and providing direct assistance to civilians detained in crossfire.
NFTs for animals
In April 2022, the World Wildlife Fund quickly shut down its non-fungible animals project due to community backlash. However, the project was able to raise a significant amount of funds in a short period of time – about $ 300,000. This led other animal conservation groups to try and learn from WWF’s mistake of not hosting their projects in a certified eco-friendly blockchain. One such organization was the Australian Zoo, which in June 2022 organized an NFT fundraiser on the carbon-negative blockchain algorithm.

Another wildlife conservation group leaning towards NFTs is the group behind Project Uninstitution. Launched to celebrate the successful rehabilitation of Speaks from declaring Macau extinct in the wild, the project aims to give donors an insight into the progress of the first group of birds left in the wild.
Another wildlife conservation group leaning towards NFTs is the group behind Project Uninstitution. On June 11, 2022, Spix’s Macaw became the first species to become “extinct”, where a flock of birds was released into the Brazilian state of Bahia. To celebrate the moment of waterlogging in animal conservation, photographer Tim Flash has partnered with Atlas Labs and the Association for the Conservation of Threatened Parrots (ACTP) for Project Uninterruptible – a collection of images by Spikes Macaw.
The project hopes to take proactive steps to reduce its environmental impact, with the ultimate goal being to make every sale of a Project Uninterrupted NFT a carbon-negative transaction. This has been done by using direct air capture to offset twice the amount of carbon produced in each NFT sale. The team has also promised to plant a tree
In Katinga, Macau’s natural habitat, the unexpected NFT of each project is for sale.NFTs for healthcare
In May 2021, Nura Health successfully sold its one-of-a-kind Save Thousand NFT. The NFT was sold at 1.3k ETH – valued at 4.4 million at the time. With these funds, the organization was able to advance the mission of creating a health literacy program for families. By improving health literacy in the core unit of society, the family, Nura Health hopes to save thousands of lives through health care: the most effective remedy.
Nura Health’s initiative is far from the only one of its kind in the NFT sphere. George Church – a prominent geneticist and professor at Harvard Medical School – is working on Genomic NFT, a tokenized, purchasable NFT of his entire genome. Once completed, the NFT is determined to showcase the potential and value of storing complex, dense scientific data in the blockchain.

Although not all projects related to healthcare and research in the NFT space had such high eyebrows. The most notable outlier is the Rainbow Rolls project – a collection of ethnographic rolls of toilet paper. Though stupid on paper, the project hoped to solve one of the most stressful problems in the modern world: medical debt. For example, the project donated a portion of its proceeds to RIP Medical Debt, which allowed nonprofits to write off more than $ 7 million in medical loans for low-income families across the United States.
NFTs for charity
Want to know how much the largest NFT projects in space have earned? A simple search on OpenSea will give you a brief overview. For the untrained, the numbers bring tears. The highest-selling collections on the Opency collect thousands of ETHs in all-time sales, with dollar prices easily entering the eight- or nine-digit range.
Fortunately, most of these high-financial projects make a point of allocating a percentage of their sales as a grant to partner organizations. According to the Giving Block, a well-organized platform for donating crypto funds to charities, even projects such as the Board App Yacht Club have donated nearly মিল 1 million to their preferred charity by November 2021: Orangutan Outreach.
At the top of the list of giving blocks is Artblocks, which has donated F 3.5 million to MSF Australia as of November 2021. Hopefully, in the months since then, these high-financial projects have continued to provide much-needed funding to charities of their choice. After all, true generosity is sharing your blessings even when there is not much to get close to.
