Meta Launches NFT Display for Facebook and Instagram Users – NFT News Today
Meta has introduced NFT display option for US Facebook users and global Instagram users after a successful launch with select users.
Back in April, while millions were still bandwagoning the NFT hype train, Meta announced that they would be one of the first companies to support NFT natively on their platform. At the time, it was a gamble – would people want to use their social media accounts to display their NFTs?
Well, since the company has now announced that NFT display options are available to all US Facebook users and most people on Instagram, the answer seems to be yes.
NFT display option for Instagram and Facebook users
In a new official announcement, Meta explained that all US-based Facebook and Instagram users will be able to connect their NFT wallets and display collectibles on their accounts. It has the ability to cross-post NFTs as well as visuals, posts and stories.
In addition to American users, people from an additional 100 countries where NFT is available on Instagram will also be able to access the feature. Some regions where NFT features are available include Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Africa, and North and South America.
The feature gives users more details about their NFTs, such as title, maker, collection and price. It allows users to “flex” their NFTs and brag to their friends
Digital collectible index
Meta’s new integration also includes support for several blockchains on its platform. Some of the blockchains from Mark Zuckerberg’s companies include Ethereum, Polygon, and Flow.
One interesting thing about the new feature is the “Digital Collectible” indicator, a visual signifier that the displayed image is a collectible item. It’s a hexagon icon with a tick inside, indicating when you’ll associate NFT information with the app.
Once the NFT is posted, a new tab will be added to your account. And this tab allows other users to more easily browse your NFT collection and go through all your public NFTs. The index allows users to access all their collectibles in one place.
Is NFT display coming at a good time?
The last one and a half years of industrial trading belongs to NFTs. The digital art form has taken the world by storm, with even celebrities and brands taking part in it. Millions of dollars were generated from single sales, and the NFT market was booming.
However, the NFT market has started to cool down in recent months. Prices fell, and the market became more saturated. Some have even begun to question the future of NFTs. Are the new display options on the Mate coming at a good time?
Despite the recent market decline, the core NFT community is still expanding and growing stronger. So, the new feature allows genuine NFT enthusiasts to connect and showcase their collections.
It may even attract new users to the world of NFTs. So, while the market may be cooling, Meta’s new display may help keep the NFT fire burning.
