Play for free or add a wax wallet
The closed beta game will be released as a free-to-play game. You just need to log in and start playing. The only thing missing from the free-to-play version is that you won’t be able to use NFT skins.
However, to participate in the game’s digital economy and use skins, you need to connect a WAX wallet. Knowing that many gamers don’t have a background in crypto, blockchain and NFT or are simply turned off, the team behind Forge Arena wanted to make things simple.
Artur Minakov, Creative Director of NEWGEN Labs said,
“The opportunity to distribute Forge Arena to traditional gamers through the Epic Game Store is a huge opportunity for our studio. Our focus has always been to create a fun, competitive, and unique game and use blockchain technology to give our players real ownership of their digital items.
Players will be able to use their Epic Games or Forge Arena account to sign in and get started without any need to understand crypto or NFT. Our team is focused on bridging the gap between traditional gaming and blockchain gaming, and our closed beta phases will show the world that Web3 Games has what it takes to change the way we play and consume video games for decades to come.”

WAX Blockchain
The WAX blockchain is hailed as one of the most energy-efficient blockchains, with Climate.org praising the company, using around 0.000223 terawatts per year. Many great NFT projects use blockchain because of its energy-saving features.
WAX will join Ethereum, EOS and Solana blockchains on Epic’s storefront.
Think later
The latest news regarding the upcoming addition of Forge Arena to the Epic Games storefront is fantastic news for the NFT space.
Slowly but surely, NFT games are entering the mainstream and Epic Games Inc and its CEO, Tim Sweeney, must be commended for their continued support and belief in Web3 Gaming.
